- Details: This beautiful hand made, inlaid wood box came from a collector's estate. The inlay, closed fretwork pattern is done as a band in the center, and goes around the entire box (except the bottom). The inside is not painted, the natural wood is visible through a soft varnish. It has a hinged lid and the bottom has four little ball wood "feet". It had the ability to be locked at some point, however, owner did not have key. The technique of marquetry and inlaying of wood with contrasting material has always enjoyed great popularity, going back to Pharaonic times, this one has an intricate design and is an absolute dream for a collector.
- How to Use: Besides being highly collectible, this box makes a beautiful home decor piece on a shelf, side table, or stacked with other collectible boxes. At the office for pens, pencils, etc. On the front entry table to organize keys. In the family room coffee table for remotes or other items not being displayed.
